Louis: I don't always use the same hole for the belt. I like it tighter when I have to walk around a lot, and looser when I mostly sit. : )

NOBD, nice individual pieces, but I feel that the overcheck SC pairs better with the more dressy elements in the 'old pic' above, compared to with the casual chinos/jeans, etc. Might be due to (perceived) levels of formality or just due to me being highly irrational...

This looks great to me. Great color of green and it works well with the shoes. Is the shirt cream/off white? It looks that way and it's not such a stark difference from the green pants. Well played.

No, I understand what you're saying. It's a very casual jacket, though: quarter lined (shoulders and sleeves), no canvass, in a roughly woven silk/wool fabric that feels more like a sweater than a jacket. You can roll it up and put it in a bag – it will come out creaseless. Here's a close-up:
