The point I'm trying to make is that Synthese's fit is pretty much purely SW&D. Which doesn't make it bad (which I've already stipulated). It's just not connected to MC in any substantive way.

I think it's great that SW&D fellas come over here to post. That doesn't change the premise of the thread, though.

New Chucks for summer. Trying not to get shoyu on them. If this shows up in the creepy thread I'll sue.

aight. i feelz ya. i still think that fits like those are good for the thread. and that they should be understood for what they are, and not critiqued the way an MC fit would be. i dont think the entire thread should be that way, but from time time, i think its nice. there is what to learn imo.

Like I said, I think Synthese put together a nice outfit, but I don't think it has much to do with MC. This is true of a fair number of posts in this thread, and I think that's the result of folks' not wanting to wade into SW&D who want some feedback on their non-suit-and-tie stuff. I followed WAYWT for a couple of months and saw lots of stuff I think looks good, but mostly not and certainly very little that I would want to wear given my age and milieu.

Tieless Monday. It's a bit chilly today, so the jacket is perfect. Already starting to love it.

Humid, breezy, HOT day in MI today. This is about as casual as I get so decided to post it.
Linen shirt, light indigo jeans, canvas sneakers.
(Fixed my shirt collar after...)

Edit: Not to be an asshole, the advice is the same: longer trousers, sleeker shoes. Also the jacket doesn't fit well.

there's nothing wrong with those shoes.

The shoes are perfectly fine, just not with that outfit. Too bottom-heavy. Personal opinion, of course, but I strongly dislike those shoes in THIS ensemble.

I feel the shoes would look better with jeans or something than the chinolinos. A word on sleek shoes, some people dislike them based upon the profile of their foot or, in my case, because sleek shoes are usually too narrow for my wider feet. Just an fyi for those always advocating them.

The jacket looks like it fits in the shoulders but is tight in the chest and splaying open at the quarters. Do you happen to have narrow shoulders for your build? I.e. would sizing up in the chest/waist of the jacket make the shoulders too large? Would try it next time you try an OTR jacket.

Just my 2 cents.

Very true, but that's why you take all advice and adjust it for yourself accordingly. However, in the case of wide feet, I would stray away from contrasting bright soles, they tend to add girth visually, like in this case.
