WAYWRN: MC Casual Style - Page 772

Is that the Spurr jacket that was on b&s? If so, I seriously contemplated buying it several times. Double buttonholes were a deal breaker for me though.

I picked it up on ebay but it may well have been on B&S.

I've worn it so many times this summer. Very please with it. double buttonhole is something I could do without but it's something I forgot about after a while. Only one of the holes is actually cut, so I'm not sure if that means I can have the stitching on the other removed. Not a big deal anyway.

Not sure if MC Casual or SW&D so this is a cross post.

Thinking that I should have had these cords taken up an additional cm or so.

While a semi-slim fit, they still stack a little too much for my liking.

Fair question.

To me, it seems to be on the same formality scale as sweater + pants + shoes, which constitutes the majority of this thread.

As to whether it fits into a casual classic menswear cannon, I don't know. What I will say is that I do read a lot of Will's stuff on asuitablewardrobe and other CM sources, and that helps me to put coherent combinations together. I draw a lot of inspiration from proponents of classic menswear, but I don't want the outcome to look classic or preppy or trad or anything like that.

i dont think its MC at all tbh. but i still like to see it. its interesting, and its pretty much as close to MC that SWD gets while still not really being a crossover fit. i especially like to contrast the rections here v in SWD. whenever i see a fit in both, i find it interesting to see what the respective sides have to say on the matter.

and. the shoes are nice.

I like hendrix's fit, but the deliberately unironed shirt (which looks good in this context) places it comfortably inside SW&D. Most of the sweaters posted here are more formal than that shirt.

That being said, such fits being posted here is beneficial to this thread...the gray area between casual CM and conservative SW&D is a fun place for discussion.
