for example:

really formal shirt (spread collar, no placket) with jeans
the colors are all off -- washed jeans, ugly pink shirt, strange jacket
not only a pocket square, but an inappropriate, ugly pocket square
loafers surely worn without socks

I was wondering why I didn't quite like this fit even though I like the components, and the crease on the pants is one of the things. In fact, I don't think the top and bottom halves really work together at all. Bow tie is a bit twee too. I love the waistcoat though.
