V. Nice!
(Ahh, and ust now I decided to order my shannons in dark oak. Now I'm in doubt again.)

Why do you lace them 'U.S. style' btw?

I'm not aware of a "U.S" style. I always lace derby boots this way....

IMO a derby boot is very casual so this lacing suits it. Personal preference smile.gif

Dark Oak much more versatile.

I went to try on some C&J's once (shoes, not boots), and the sales associate said "I'm going to lace these up English style for you". He proceeded to do bar lacing on the shoes, so I guess the way you have your boots laced would be considered US style? FWIW I always lace casual boots the same way, looks great.

No critisim intended, just curiosity.
Like you said, a matter of preference.

In fact, thinking about it, all of my derbys are laced in this fashion (apart from a pair of sleek wingtips from Antonio Meccariello)

A beloved, old, chunky wool sweater I got in France when I was a college student. The sweater is as old as Zadok, the Priest, but it is still like new.

Thrifted the trench, thinking about slimming it down a notch, and shortening it.
