I wanted chukka's (to replace my Tetbury's), didn't know Loake and wanted to try out the brand. I also heard they were quite wide and high (instep): exactly what I need for my 'difficult feet'. I like the C&J Chukka, but those are much too narrow. And the price is nice as well, yes.
