Tomorrow I will post a close-up - "all in good time my pretty, all in good time . . .".

They are the Pembroke by Crockett and Jones.

Today is rainy, if cooler, in NYC, and I have to visit the great state of New Jersey midday, hence "rain shoes"

Shirt and trews - BB
Shoes - Macgill, via Botticelli, NYC, some 15-20 years ago

For Veremund, a close-up of today's watch - a 1980's vintage Must de Cartier tank, ivory face, quartz movement.

Great watch and lovely shirt @upr_crust!

New shoes - Oliver Sweeney mainline (70% off courtesy of the rack).  Outfit may not be perfectly suited for the "Classic Menswear" forum but hey, it's Friday.  Quick low quality pic.  Any advice on the lacing?  Shoes came with white but I feel it distracts from the natural color of the shoe.

Is this your first pair of Oliver Sweeney mainline? I've seen a few pairs at the rack as well and have been tempted, but don't know much about the brand. What are your thoughts as far as quality goes so far?

As far as lacing goes, I'm not feeling the white. I think laces either matching the natural welt color or the same tone of the suede would be much better!

Yes it is.  I've seen mixed reviews about the brand so I was initially hesitant but I'm very happy with the pair I'm wearing right now.  The stitching is on point, the leather upper is of good quality, has a nice "heft" to it and overall very comfortable.  The construction seems like it will be a shoe that lasts a long time.  On the flip side, there were a few pairs that were not part of their "goodyear welt" line that I saw and the quality is definitely at least 2-3 levels below the ones I got.  I mainly wear AEs and would put this particular shoe right at that level of quality on construction, maybe even a touch higher.  Would assume they are a step below something like a C&J.  Overall I'm very happy with my purchase

Thanks for the info! I'm thinking about grabbing a white pair as a patina project. At the sale price point, I think it'd be difficult to find another goodyear welted candidate better suited to mess around with.

Crossposted in the main thread.

I saw this old post of Rich on the Armoury's tumblr and I knew I had to do another Inspiration for Less. It's been extremely hot in SoCal, so I decided to do some

casual suiting and play with textures!

I've gotta say, I love Suit Supply's lapels.  They make the best ones for my budget.

Now that is what I call Classic Menswear Casual! Nice. This ensemble is a good candidate for Reevolving's Sharp Casual thread, which is excellent and deserves more traction. @bienluienapris, your kit above is also a good example of sharp casual.

^That's exactly right. I think @SprezzaTrash's fit is really top notch.

Interesting that you mention @bienluienapris too. I have been meaning to ask him where he gets his great linen jackets.
