Oxxford Seersucker Jacket
Borrelli Shirt
Brioni Linen Pants
Tyrwhitt Suede Shoes

I think lighter shoes would be a good change here.

^ I like most of the pieces, but I don't like any of these things together.  The stripes on the shirt clash with the stripes on the jacket.  The gray jacket and pants are at odd with the pastels in the shirt.  The brown shoes and belt don't blend well with the gray either.  I think black shoes and belt would have been better.

Well, I do agree with most of what you said. But I think a brown belt / shoes go just fine with this outfit, and with grey trousers. In fact, black would clash badly with this outfit, or almost any casual outfit for that matter.

Brown calf might be slightly better than suede, texturally, in this context though.

Thanks for the thoughts, I really appreciate the feedback!

I'm not sure I could do black shoes here. I think I could have taken better photos to get the colors more accurately, though - the pants are definitely blue, as are the jacket stripes. Close to the same color as the darker blue stripe of the shirt. But the stripes in the shirt - I agree, they are at odds with the stripes of the jacket.

Today, I'm wearing what I wear when I don't really care what I'm wearing - it's Tuesday, I'm tired, there is a chance of rain, and I've got an 8:30 AM conference call to discuss bank regulatory matters. This is not an auspicious day . . .

FWIW, then . . .

Lovely colors, and I like the shoes. White bucks, yes? Where do you get yours?

Very kind of you to say - thank you! The shoes are white bucks, and I bought them several years ago at Johnston & Murphy. The soles were designed for planned obsolescence - I had two pairs, white and dark brown, and I wore through the soles of the dark brown pair in no time flat - but they are very comfortable, with or without socks.
