I have to agree with Teger here. The guy looks "comfortable" and "friendly," but not "stylish." Also that shirt looks like its meant to be tucked in.

Do you imagine crat working around the house or buying groceries in those clothes? His look screams that it's for going out. Mr. K has shown us plenty of shirt+jacket, but here is a different context and style. You really seem incapable of seeing things from beyond just your own conception of style.

True, it doesn't look "stylish," but stylish is not always good. Mr. K's look is objectively just fine for what it is.

Because iron workers and longshoremen really buy and wear $200+ selvedge jeans? The whole workwear concept is a sham if you really think about it. There should be a handful of artisans around the world that really fit not only the aesthetic but the true spirit of "workwear" as we know it in the #mensblogosphere.

As far as the fit, I don't see too much wrong with it aside from the untucked shirt. The sweater is why I stopped buying JCrew...if he were to size up to a Medium (I assume its a small MrK?) he'd be swimming in it. They are sized for skinny 20 somethings or guys who don't give a **** that they're wearing something too big.

I wear sneakers, old jeans, a shirt or t-shirt and an old letterman jacket when going out.

This stuff is just for popping into town to visit the library and go to the supermarket. Something I'm equally comfortable doing in my green/gold adidas tracksuit bottom with a worn, un-ironed dress shirt, depending on my mood. :embar:

Mr. K, I don't think your sweater is too small but I like a slim fit. Jeans could do with some breaking in though.

The jeans will eventually break in. Only my APC jeans have any fades after 5 years. All my others are not old enough to show any good fades. I usually only wear a pair once a week or so. With 4 pairs it will take some time to get good fades.

the real problem with this (and like all of mr. k's fits), beyond everything being too tight, is that it's like the blandest most boring paint-by-numbers generic in fashion adult men's look possible. the appeal of raw denim is that it breaks in and fades in an interesting way, but these fits don't show that at all. just.. no character. to me it really epitomizes all the complaints that workwear inspired trends are some weird way for white collar workers to escape their office drone reality... just a weird mish mash of styles/cultures with no knowledge of the pieces' greater context or origins.

I must admit it seams you take this all much too seriously. My denim will fade, but it will not happen over night. I do not live my life in jeans. That is why only my 5 year old APCs show any good fading. I admit some of my things are getting a bit tight, but that is more do to the excessive travel I have done for work the last 5 months and eating out 5 days a week for all meals. It is time to hit the treadmill again and shave off about 10-15 pounds to get back to my goal weight. As for the jeans I will not do long baggy legged jeans, it just looks sloppy and trashy to me. Please post t some of your looks so we can see how you believe we should look in our denim.
