As with most things fashion, you have to take it on an individual basis. Maybe cuffs make your legs look shorter overall, but I've seen thin men where it doesn't have that effect at all. Generally, I think cuffs on any kind of pants are mostly a matter of build. If you're stocky (like me) it's a pretty good bet that cuffs, however natty they may seem, are just to be dreaded. (Hmm...need to put on some Marley.) Whether on dress slacks, suit pants, or jeans. Thin guys can usually pull it off unless they're pencil thin or scrawny short which can make the look absurdly bottom-heavy. And if you're an NBA player, by all means go for it (but then, they can wear anything). I understand the pre-shrinkage issue but, really, why not just give them a couple dos trough the wash before first wearing?

Exquisite. Both scarf and jacket. What a spectacular job on the jacket unless you happened to find one someone bought two days before he died and it was left in the back of the closet for 30 years. In every era there're designs that are simply timeless.

@Mr Knightley, what a great scarf.

I'm realizing that I need to find a place that gets better light for these pics, the colors and nice. textures are getting washed out. Sweater from O'Connells --- I know there are some fans of theirs here!

This was from today. Jeans are a bit snug on me but brand new and am expecting them to stretch out.

Thanks guys:)

Perhaps I should say a little more about the jacket. I actually bought it new in 1985 or 86 from my local menswear shop - one that sold a great range of Italian menswear but more understated than the usual 80s offerings. That jacket has always been a favourite of mine and last year I sat down with my tailor to see if we could update it a little without losing its basic look. He suggested shortening the sleeves and tapering them slightly,  because in the 80s I wore them longer and turned back to reveal a little lining - I know....Anyway, the result is quite pleasing I reckon.
