Apologies for even worse lighting than usual, but I didn't take a pic of this outfit from yesterday until the evening. Still trying to make these jeans work, sort of...

I like this a lot. Love the jacket! I might've worn brown suede shoes, but it is great regardless.

Love the DiY dyeing, hate the massive logo on the cardigan.
+1. But have to say, this is not a logo, just a stupid badge. Don't even know what it presents. Got no balls to try get it off. That's too much even for me ;) anawys, thanks for answer!

I don't think I'll ever really "get" what people on SF like in a casual look. I was half-expecting to be torn to shreds for my last look, and instead it got a fair few positive comments. All appreciated though!

What don't you get? Layering is cool, colors are great and autumnal, nice combination of textures and patterns + hat adds a little bit of swag that looks cool with a casual fit but often looks dorky otherwise

Oh, don't get me wrong, I liked how I looked.

But I've also liked how I've looked at other times, when I haven't had positive feedback. I'm not saying I deserved +ve comments then, mind you. I'm not critiquing SF, but myself: what I'm saying is that I don't have an eye for "cool", which is a component of casual in a much more direct way than it is for smarter looks. I've never really needed to dress "cool", to be honest, so I don't haven't really put in the practice/hours required to train the eye. I definitely have an eye for smart/sharp. I flatter myself than I also have an eye for colour (even I sometimes combine them in bizarre ways). And on a good day, I even have an eye for patterns (again, sometimes a rather psychedelic/mirror funhouse eye...). But "cool" (within the more modern casual spectrum) is not really my forte, and to complicate matters, is a tricky thing to absorb osmotically through feedback, because it's a fairly nebulous concept to define.
