Stitches, those are good. I've handled them but the other boots are better, they are called redgrave.

i wasnt sure i really loved the shape, but hard to tell from the pic. also, its a bit harder on the old wallet. but i do like the color better.

any other opinions on these options?

I live in the shoe hell known as Michigan. I can only try on Allen Edmonds and Aldens at jcrew. I love the look of Carminas but I have rather wide feet and the lasts look really narrow I will see if i can order some and take them back maybe?

Excuse the wrinkles, jacket is linen. Denim on the bottom (I know, I know). Sort of still summer here, really buggy and wet today but wanted to wear a jacket.

^ The jacket seems to fit nicely. I also like the colour and fabric.
The shirt isn't working for me and it's sleeves seem too long.

Do you really like the (?)wood interspersed with the rubber in the heel and the contrast at the top of the sole? Looks weird to me. And from what I've seen of your wardrobe, I can't imagine it working with much you already have. A more straightforward chukka would probably be more versatile.

I say this with the best will in the world: you really need to decide what kind of look you want to create for yourself and then buy items consistent with that vision. Your purchases tend to run a fairly wide gamut of styles, which would be OK if you had the experience to mix & match them in a way that works well. For now, I would humbly suggest you don't quite look at clothes in a way that lets you achieve that result, so save yourself the effort of having to match items by starting off with a really clear vision of your end goal and restrict your purchases to that vision.

I'm not good at MC casual, but the advice above is not specific to that sub-genre, so I feel OK about posting it here.

Hmmm, it's much better, but I think we need to see it in natural light to see whether the pants are too dark for the shoes.

The last of the shoes is much better and that's why I initially advised for this - you generally can't get away with very sleek shoes with this type of fit.

I don't like chukkas but I think that would be a good option for you.

I think this is definite progress anyway. I'd like to see an untucked shirt perhaps.

FWIW, I like your MC casual fits. Most people doing what you do would look like they're trying to be stuffy but you pull it off somewhat naturally most of the time. I think you just add a little personality which makes what I would normally find unbearable to be kinda charming.

i actually do like the mixed material in the sole. i think its neat. gdl, however, may say it is silly flair. but i like it.

as to your next point. i do not disagree, however, my look varies greatly and that is something i enjoy. i can go to work one day like i did today, and go the next day wearing a suit and tie with black cap toes. its entirely up to me. therefor, while this may be crazy and impossible, i am kind of trying to build various wardrobes at the same time, as opposed to trying to mesh items of various different styles (not to say i dont end up doing that sometimes, but that is not my goal, to meld worlds). i like variation, and would like to have a casual wardrobe i feel comfortable with, a SC/trou wardrobe and a suit and tie wardrobe as well.

at present i am most actively working on the casual end, as i have the least amount of clothing (wearable that is) in that category. i started with a few khakis from j crew, and a few shirts, gingham striped and plaid, some winners, others losers, but i got them on the cheap so that wasnt so painful. i need a few solid white and blue OCBDs. i have the bucks as my only casual shoe now, and i think that nice chocolate suede chukkas would be a wise second shoe. i added the blue chinos i am wearing today, and may get another pair or two of pants over the next little while, as some of the j crew ones turned out to be no good.

my trou selection is pretty much ok, and i have some good SCs, just need to add that staple blue. same for suits really. there are a few ties i could add, some more soporific styles, but that is no rush. i think my dress shoe selection is sufficient at present as well, maybe a brown suede cap toe could be added, ala carmina, but also no rush there.

i know i am trying to cover a lot of ground at once, and am by nature an impatient man, but at least now i am trying to do so thoughtfully.

ill try to get a pic in natural light next time, its too late for that now.

i had originally thought that the tapered pants needed a slimmer shoe, but after wearing these today, i see you were right.

glad you enjoyed the progress, and i appreciate the feedback.

i am really uncomfortable in the untucked look, i feel it makes me look fatter and very "tent-y"
