Fair enough and to each their own- it's a pretty casual outfit.

thank you.

Though do you see why I put it together with Maomao's?

no, no idea, seriously.

The point being that harmony through texture is achievable, even in casual outfits, and is perhaps easier than trying to do so through maximizing patterns and interesting items.

actually, i missed the point, where this has become such a high goal. imo, it's a matter of cours due to being a basic rule.

Perhaps I overreached and the differences are too great to make the point. (.... but thanks, FM).

Well, maybe thats the base reason the Parker/Maomao picture pair isn't working for you. The point was being made for the benefit of... the skiers of green circle or blue square hills, not those who ski the black diamonds or double black diamonds of clothing.

If you want a laugh, imagine my walking up to MaoMao or Parker and launching into that analyses. Nothing could be more pedantic or pointless.

Wore this today to a contemporary classical music performance in a more stylish part of town, with both ancient music lovers and young zany college-student music lovers. Sorry for the pattern overload, I don't have enough items in my wardrobe.

^Best thing about this is the pants, IMO. Though I, personally, would have thought twice about wearing them in winter. Social conventions and all that.

Hmm- I don't like the shirt or the tie; you might have guessed that ahead of time. I also think the white belt was an idea that didn't work.

whoa. not in a good way.

I would have lost everything above the waist and replaced with something more sober. Too much pattern and the SC looks like you waxed it (lots of sheen), which doesn't cohere with the rest of the matte fit. The whole thing is just not very cohesive.

edit: In hind-sight a soft navy blazer might have fit with this. Maybe. Definitely more than what is currently in the shot.

Definitely what I was thinking. Only problem is that I don't actually have one.

yet you have an ultra shiny SC/suitcoat thing. Priorities man. Priorities.

I know, I know *doublefacepalm*. Last year I ran out to the nearest Macy's and bought that without thinking, since I didn't want to waste any time thinking about it. Fail.

On the brighter side, the horsehair canvass feals like kevlar, so it could probably last me through a nuclear holocaust.

Just be careful. It's habit forming.

I wish. The goodwill closest to me never has anything good. I've always told myself that I should check out the goodwill stores where the uber rich in my city live, but I've never gotten around to it.

Besides, I wear a 36. I have trouble finding my size even at neiman or saks.

You lucky. evilBay has tons of 36, especially if you have a 17" shoulder.
