They're nice, for sure; however, for my preference, they're all over-restored. I like my classic cars to be classic. Older race cars usually left the factory with shitty paint, welding marks, uneven panels and gaps, and other little nuances that let you know it was made by people instead of some machine. Some popped stitching in the leather seats, a little peeling paint, or some tire or paint marks on the 250LM or D-type from rubbing fenders with other cars on the race track makes such vehicles seem more real. These all have been sterilized too much for my taste.
See the Simeone Foundation Museum in Philly for a great collection of race cars that still bear the marks of their trade.

There are a lot of people in the car community who trash him for this. Restoring cars to better than new condition has been going on well before RL bought his collection. He will no-doubt continue to do so as will other collectors.
I have seen video of him driving some of his cars. I have also read that his staff arranges for various ones to be at his ranch or homes so that he can drive them. Apparently Ralph likes to select which car he is driving depending upon how he chooses to dress that day. So, the staff is used to him changing his mind or asking for a different car the way you or I might change our tie after looking in the mirror....
