Additional employment on resume - good or bad?

I currently work for corporate America, however a friend and business owner wants to hire me part time to do some work for his private business. In the event that I want to get a different corporate job full time would it be beneficial to put my part time employment on my resume, or could it possibly be seen as an interruption of my full time duties? Note, the part time private work could not be considered a conflict of interest. Completely different industry. Also, I understand many corporations make you disclose outside employment. If course I would do this, but how would it look on the resume to get in the door? Good or bad? Thanks folks!

Depends on how you spin it. If you're acting as a consultant to your friends business then it looks great. If you're flipping burgers for a few extra bucks then its not so good.

If the job would look good on your resume as a full-time job, then sure, why not. For the last 2 years I worked part-time in addition to full-time. On my resume it just looks like twice the experience.
