Did I get a pay raise but not notified?

I started a new job and accepted an offer I was given. Only been with the co. a short time but been working hard. I noticed my pre-taxed check to be higher than my salary I agreed to. Wouldn't I be told this or would my co. just decide to give me more without telling me?

Also, I get a bonus but haven't been paid it... when does that normally go out? I dont know if its a sign on bonus or what..

How are random internet people supposed to know this personal situation? Go down to HR and ask about the bonus distribution pattern/structure for the company and down mention the higher paycheck while you're there. You should be able to better understand your situation from here.

Ehhh call HR for sure. It could be a glitch. You don't want them to retro it from your future checks when they find out.

Jake you have the time tested dilemma on your hands: Whether to ask people who actually know what they are talking about (HR) about an issue specific situation or your contempraries who will just spend their time figuring out what you want to hear...

I thought maybe there were some folks that work HR on here. Or people that work in a executive or supervisory role that could advise.

Since I am young I thought I would ask advise from people with perhaps more experience than me on how to handle the situation.

for my company, my signing bonus is paid out 2 months into working.

I got a raise in between my offer and my start date (6 mos) because my boss-to-be freaking ruled! I did go and ask him about it and he told me that he didn't want me penalized for the six months I worked as his intern (I was hired < 3 wks in). He told me to never, ever come back to see hm if the number is HIGHER than what I expect. So, moral -- go see your mgr about it. Looking too honest is rarely to your deteriment. ~ H
