Really really really sad individuals.
Georgia State defensive lineman Christo Bilukidi made history Saturday by becoming the first Panther to be drafted by the National Football League. He was selected by the Oakland Raiders with the 19th pick in the sixth round, the 189th overall pick.
Bilukidi, from Ottawa, Ontario, was a two-year starter and the Panthers' top defensive lineman in their first two seasons. Playing primarily defensive tackle but also lining up at defensive end, he had 10 career sacks and 16 tackles for loss.
As a senior in 2011, he led GSU with five sacks and nine tackles for loss, along with 38 tackles, a pass breakup, a fumble recovery and a forced fumble. In 2010, he had 51 tackles, five sacks, seven tackles for loss and two forced fumbles.
Bilukidi played two seasons at Eastern Arizona JC before transferring to Georgia State prior to the Panthers' inaugural season of 2010.
He was born in Angola and also lived in France and Brazil before Canada, where he played just one year of high school football.
