In other news, what do you guys think proper punishment for the saints is? At a minimum it should be loss of the title, williams banned from NFL for life, and all players involved suspended for at least a few games. Absolutely no place in sports for that bullshit.

Payton, Williams, Loomis suspended

Saints head coach Sean Payton will be suspended without pay for one season; GM Mickey Loomis suspended for first eight games; former DC Gregg Williams suspended indefinitely. More

Okay so I was close!

Jets trade for Tebow:

Really curious. I don't see Tebow being a good fit, personnel-wise or from a locker room standpoint.

Way too harsh penalty against the Saints. Losing their coach for a year and 2nd picks this year and next year.

I don't get this either. I hope their organization is looking forward to the chants for Tebow once Sanchez surely begins to suck again.

Yes, professional sports organizations should pay for people to deliberately injure opposing players. I agree with you brah, why they hating? Don't they remember Katrina?!!!

Denver used a 1st round pick on Tebow and traded him for a 4th. And that is after all the ridiculous hype from last year. That's a write off.

I'm guessing the "locker room" is what the Jets want him for. I know the guy has got a big personality and is really positive and optimistic, but I don't think one guy is going to turn around the mess they have up there. And the NY media is going to tear the guy a new asshole.

Wow. I am shocked by the Saints penalties.

They're harsher than I would have imposed, but to be fair, after some kind of appeals process, they'll probably be reduced to something I think is fair.

LOL @ Jets.

What appeals process do NFL coaches have? The players have a union in the the NFLPA and but I don't think the coaches have anything like that.

I don't know. I was just assuming they did.

When you read Goodell's statement it's hard to escape his conclusions. I think he realizes this is a serious black eye for the league.

? What are you talking about? Its way too early for you to be this high.

They've kept this pretty well under wraps because there's no "rapid reaction" from any sports sites with opinions on this. I think people haven't had a clue.

But I really came here just now to post this pic, which highlights something lost in all this scandal:

Namely, Gregg Williams has some pretty nice tittays.

Not to mention the huge number of lawsuits the NFL is facing from former players about traumatic brain injury. If he gave the Saints a slap on the wrist, it'd look bad in court.

As it should be. Whether the clowns that play for the NFL realize it or not, they set the standard for sports play. I think it was you that mentioned a couple pages back that in light of things like this, parents would be wary in having their kids pursue football careers if they're going to be targeted for injury. The only remedy for something that can skew perception that badly is serious punishment.

I'm mocking you, if that wasn't painfully obvious. The coach already admitted he knew what was going on, and the team profited handsomely (Brett Favre's injuries in the NFC championship game ring a bell?) from this type of behavior.
