the new york media (especially NY ESPN Radio) has been insufferable...

they started off supremely confident... with topics like "IS ELI MANNING A BETTER QB THAN TOM BRADY?!!" with local NY callers chiming in with gems like "i think eli has had a bettA cA-rear than Peyton so faaa!"

Then they swung around to now lambasting the NY sportswriters for favoring the Giants (Lupica is the worst right now) by making fun of callers who think the Giants will win by giving sarcastic answers. "Maybe the Pats shouldn't even go onto the field! Its a forgone conclusion!".

I hate Michael Kay the most though, (which is natural since I'm a boston guy), but I've learned over the past 3 years here there are yankee/NY fans that hate him even more than me.

Don't even need to play the game, brah.

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-02-02/super-bowl-winning-quants-say-patriots-will-beat-giants-by-more-than-three.html

The New England Patriots will win the Super Bowl by at least three points even though the New York Giants have the appeal of “a cocktail party stock,” according to a quantitative money management firm that’s correctly picked the team covering the point spread for eight consecutive years.

Analytic Investors LLC in Los Angeles has documented a tendency on the part of Super Bowl bettors to overestimate the chances of the team that rewarded them more during the regular season -- the team with the higher alpha, in investment parlance. In 2008, that was the favored Patriots, who lost to the Giants 17-14. This year, it’s New York.

“Everyone thinks the Giants are rolling right now, a lot of people in my office even,” said Matthew Robinson, a portfolio analyst for global and Japanese equities at Analytic and the author of this year’s analysis. “They like the Giants, but they have faith in the model as well.”

I don't know which I'm less enthusiastic about: the Madonna show or the commercials.

Can't stand the people that are more excited about the commercials than the game itself.

I hate the people who know the funny/interesting/non football playing Prop bets and get excited about it even when they didn't put a dime on it...

like the over/under on the length of the national anthem last year there were 5 people timing it like geeks.. none of the 5 had a bet on it... and they cheered wildly (for no reason) when the anthem was over not because they were patriotic... but because they were so proud of themselves for timing the song...

How Tony Romo didn't win comeback player of the year is stupid, let alone not receiving a single vote. The fact that Eli Manning got a vote for comeback player of the year is a complete joke. Romo should have won it. Someone try to argue it with me, I'll prove you wrong.

I get the feeling you may be a bit biased...
