You can port an existing number to google voice if you want. You could take your established mobile number and make it your GV number while giving your cell a new "secret" number.

Another feature I forgot to mention (since I have not used it myself in a year or so) is dirt cheap international calling. Rates are about the same as skype but the call can be routed directly to any phone you want instead of stuck on your computer.

Now that is some interesting stuff. You have peaked my interest. I will have to look into number porting. Good shit OTC.

So far, the mobile version on my iPad is much better than the mobile version of Facebook. Not as jumpy, easier to read, it fits the screen without moving around...

just waiting for apple to come into the social media arena....

i think their iOS5 update with the iMessenge and integrated twitter is their starting point. i don't really see them having a dedicated website for it.

sparks is pretty cool. has anyone figured out a way to turn off email notifications? this shit is driving me insane. i don't need an email every time someone adds me to this thing. edit: it's in account settings under google+ if anyone is interested. can enable/disable emails, etc. edit 2: this is really making me realize how much bullshit i'm inundated with on facebrag that i absolutely just do not give a crap about. that site really is just a SPAM machine when it comes down to it.
