About the only top place open on July 4 with a table.

You like? What's good

Thx

It's good, very good.

The service was spotty when I went in early May, and the food was good but not mind-blowingly so. I'm definitely not a foodie but I preferred Daniel and Le Bernardin, and even Gary Danko in SF to Jean Georges.

heck, i'm going tomorrow with a few friends and will let you know what's good on the current menu. in NYC, i would place it below Per Se and Le Bernardin on the fine dining scale, but it is very good.

Thx guys. We're wait listed for Daniel.

For some odd reason I just don't fancy Bernadin. Guess just not a fish nut.

Yep! The Fluke sashimi preparation was also very good as was the trout with trout roe. The place is a total steal at lunch.

Does anyone know how they prepare the caviar egg so the egg shell is cut perfectly?

They use a tool called an Egg Topper.

I love fish, and enjoy Bernadin but I haven't had a longing to return to Bernadin during recent visits. I'm headed that way for the holiday, but decided to go for more casual dining experiences on this trip.

Duo of beef and the madelines were the highlights for me. Keep in mind that you will have to keep your jacket on at all times at Daniel, unlike the other places in NYC I went to.
