Because I just bought some basil and mint (for pesto and juleps) and I'm sure I'll have some questions. Also because I know edinatlanta wants a place to post photos of his bonsai.

So, I'd like to put my tiny basil and mint plants into a larger pot on my patio. Does this look like a large enough pot for them both? Or should I get two separate, smaller planters?

More than big enough. Just keep picking the herbs and you'll have continued growth.

One thing though, to answer your question from yesterday, don't use soil from the ground if you're putting it in a pot. You'll need potting soil for that. Try to avoid Miracle Gro if you can. There is nothing bad with it but it is best to get a soil that comes from as close to you as possible. Stick with something from the East Coast at the very least.

Look for Fafard (IIRC) it is made in SC and comes in these fuschia, purpely bags, and then there is Mr. Natural which is made in Dalohnega. Mr Natural can be found at Garden*Hood in Atlanta. It has cartoons of worms and shit on it.
