We've lost some highlights, it's true, but we still have a few gems.

Ava Gene's is Italian, isn't it? There's also Nostrana, Genoa... Plus some older places that don't get talked about, because Portland seems more interested in other cuisines.

The nduja toast. Spreadable salami with some olive tapanade on good breads. Game changing flavor.
The pasta were a big hit.
Burrata was good, except dude felt need to explain what burrata was at length.
Service was a win, and the wine options are perfect.

Gonna be ther tomorrow.

I liked Ava Genes, its solid. I was just in Portland and ate like crazy for 5 days.

and about 4 or 5 of the best espressos i've ever had, best one for me was at Coava Roasters.

I'd recommend Tasty and Sons and Pok Pok for good casual food.

Ha&VL has the best soup in the world. It would be a good contrast/complement to more expensive places. Any of the restaurants mentioned in the last couple pages are good, too. Is there anything more specific you're after?

All this. I had a pretty fantastic meal at smallwares a while back. Punches above its weight IMO.

If you've got some money burn, light it on fire at DOC. It's fantastic, w/ a wine list full of 100% obscure Italian picks that are amazing.

And this for sure, though the "ambiance" is pretty bare-bones.

There you go again with that DOC recommendation. I think I might have to bump it up on the list.

FWIW, Kiya couldn't recommend his way out of a paper bag. We're still in awe of his Comme Ca call.

if your talking about the deep fried hot dog place, it sucks... I wouldnt go there again.

That's a shame. It came up on Thrillist last week and since my gf loves hot dogs I thought it'd be worth checking out.

Know any cheap places that sell nike prodcuts? Except for the Portland outlet of course.

I don't thnk there is anything in Portland that I can't find in LA or NYC.

So I'm looking to score more cheap stuff that looks cool.

lol couture. if your looking to go out and get a more portland vibe, i would steer clear of those spots. If you want the touristy/scene feel go to ron toms/dig a pony/holocene/ and end at sassys or union jacks for some tits.

This friday is live and direct at branx, that will be the spot.

Def not anything you can't get elsewhere. Really, besides the outlet, the best tip is score a pass to the Employee Store. They don't really have lots of ltd. edition joints, but sometimes, and evetrything is super cheap.

Just Be Complex has some great Nike make-ups, and when they go on sale, it's a killer deal.

Employee store had some big drop couple weeks back. got my 5s.

Hows slowburger (at the ocean) compare to slowbars burger? any better / worse? I didnt find it super exciting. I ate at every spot in one week. All fine, nothings outrageously good, but cant wait for the summer to post on the patio and eat wings, tacos, and meatballs.

I really want to get the laurelhurst market burger, the castanga burg, and little birds.
