i got a 3gs right when it came out and it's still in good cosmetic condition and works the same as before. I'll keep it until it dies (which will hopefully be several years away). Spending $600 on a phone every couple of years is retarded imo.
The one thing that might make me upgrade is a message waiting light. If i could have that one feature, I'd happily upgrade because it would mean i wouldn't have to carry my damned BB everywhere. I hate having 2 phones. I hardly use my iphone for actual phone calls. It's more for internet/texting and i hate paying $60/mo for that or whatever, but it would be hard to go without at this point...
