iphone 4 now or wait for 5 - Page 2

My 3GS has a cracked screen, the volume buttons are busted, the power button doesn't work, and it glitches like crazy. I refuse to buy a 4 when the 5 is only a few months away.

I do'nt understand how people kill their phones like that =/

i got a 3gs right when it came out and it's still in good cosmetic condition and works the same as before. I'll keep it until it dies (which will hopefully be several years away). Spending $600 on a phone every couple of years is retarded imo.

The one thing that might make me upgrade is a message waiting light. If i could have that one feature, I'd happily upgrade because it would mean i wouldn't have to carry my damned BB everywhere. I hate having 2 phones. I hardly use my iphone for actual phone calls. It's more for internet/texting and i hate paying $60/mo for that or whatever, but it would be hard to go without at this point...

well-timed thread. my wife is having to hang up her blackberry when she retires this week, so over the weekend we went to the att store and got her a 3gs (she hardly uses it, so didn't seem to warrant a 4). but the 3gs seems faster than my old 3 and the 4 faster still, so i was right on the cusp of upgrading mine. i'll wait until september. btw, there are some good deals on plans out there. we were able to upgrade her to the 3gs for $50, and actually reduce our monthly plan payment, despite adding her iphone package. course, we hadn't changed plans in like 3 years, so that's probably why.

Definitely worth waiting for.
