Now I see how Woody Allen saw Adrien Brody as Dali . . .

You're correct.

Hard to tell, but it looks like Dali is wearing saddle shoes and Max Ernst is wearing suede.

It also looks like Yves Tanguy was busy inventing the mohawk.

Even though I hate surrealism, these guys are looking pretty good:

Personal Note:

I met Salvador Dali on New Years Eve at a Bar on the Upper Eastside of Manhattan
in the early 1960s. He was wearing evening clothes and a Cape. I was with my future
wife and friends.

Wow. Talk about open quarters and a trim hip.

Bogart sure knew how to wear a hat. This one looks like it's too big for him in the band, yet he still makes it look good.

thanks fellas. yeah, I see now. Not used seeing the younger Bogart. Great suit. I like the slightly snug 30s fit.

what I like about the artists photo is the long, unlined collar points that kinda of curl up. and the soft jackets.

Everything is very soft and drapey in that shot. Looks good.

Naples, Outside Pizzeria Gorizia (still existent) Vomero Area 1916-1920 circa. Worth noting the short Morning coat with Notch Lapel and multibuttons (also spotted often by Toto in movies) and Bowler Hat

Hard to believe this is approaching 40 years old.

^ thanks, this reassures me that my 3.75" lapels are not, in fact, of '70s proportions smile.gif

That's what I call great 1970s style from Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman in All The President's Men (1976). BTW, retired soap opera actor Ron Hale (Ryan's Hope, and General Hospital fame) is in it too.

BTW, I wonder if Carl and Bob still friends today?

Hoffman looks silly, Redford looks great. Great lapel roll, nice collar roll on the Brooks polo, high waisted trousers.
