working out a particular muscle or set of muscles won't reduce the fat in that area more than any other rite? - so if you work out your abs a lot but don't reduce your total fat your stomach will actually look bigger.

less is more. jogging or some other exercise that works on all muscle groups would be the most effective for defining abs
