What do you think of this NB sneaker? - Page 2

If you look around a little, you'll see that there's a schism on styleforum between people who like NB and people who can't understand why anyone would lace such design abortions on their feet. So it's a charged subject, and the answers you're getting reflect less an honest appraisal of the shoes and more another chance for dickbags and their hangers on to say they hate NBs.

I'm down with New Balances, but those don't look great to me. IMO NBs are at their best when they're mostly monotone and in cool (temperature cool) colors, like gray and blue, with some exceptions.

The ones you posted look exceedingly normal. I'm sure they'll look fine with jeans or khakis, but not particularly special. They're almost certainly quite comfortable and well made.

You're returning something based on internet opinions from people you don't know? The fuck is wrong with you? You obviously bought them because they appealed to you, your decision to keep them should be based on if you like them or not once they arrive, not what a bunch of pretentious knob-gobbling forum cool-kid fanboys say.

NBs are awesome. The brown colourway isn't spectacular but would work well for fall (throw some red laces on them). Like someone else suggested, if you want other colour options consider a grey/navy combo or burgundy.

One reason why NB gets some hate is that it clobbers one of the cardinal rules...no branding.

If I were to wear something with as obnoxious branding as a big N on my shoe, then it really opens up the floodgates. Next thing you know, I'm rocking a polo with an alligator and a big R on my butt.

No branding isn't a 'cardinal rule'.

Its fine if you like brown; I mean the most important audience is you right? Me, I love the Puma stripe.

The chunkiness on those kills it for me. I'd prefer one of these if I had to wear brown sneakers:

Return them, then spend another 250$ on identical looking common projects in your choice of brown/gray/white.

NBs are one of the few sneaker brands for people with wide feet.
