He probably can but I reckon the cost adds up. Shipping alone is 80 euros, so one'd probably have to pay an additional 80 euros for him to ship the shoes over + $ for postage back to Italy, plus the extra charge for the pair of trial shoes.

Definitely worth doing if he can account for whatever needs tweaking -- that's what I'm uncertain about since the novecentro is still a MTO. My hunch is that the trial shoes are probably just used to test what size you need for the shoes as opposed to re-making the last according to one's foot shape etc.

Being able to test driving fitting shoes via mail is quite appealing indeed!

As long as €80 is a speedy delivery. Also the trial shoes does provide the possibility for insole customization, that alone will provide a better fit without remaking the last.

How is your shoe game?

For bespoke? I, personally, would be a little hesitant about commissioning a bespoke shoe project without being there!

Nice. How do bespoke shoe-makers determine the type of insole customization required based on the test shoes? Obviously I have never bespoken a pair of shoes shog[1].gif

Yeah, I assume that pair is an MTO. Can't image those pair being a bespoke without him being there for a full measurement....

I also find it hard to imagine the shoemaker doing a proper fit adjustment (last customization or insole customization) over mail or photos, unless the client really knows what he's talking about.

Depending on insole customization requests by customers.

On the simpler side, full insole liner to cover up the dimples.  Or heel padding (I requested mine this way).  Or arch supports, which could come from contoured/arched insoles or from upper wrap around waist to waist stiffeners (instead just heel stiffeners, think extra long pads ladies use).  On the more elaborate side, some could even ask for orthotic inserts, which will usually be foamed insert laying on top of spiked insole for stability.  Or actually taking the footprint/form to make the last shape.

I am sure there are other options that I haven't dreamed about.

These are MTO Novecento, all the bespoke (leather, finish, trees, etc) except the custome last at 50% of bespoke. Heading to Milan in 3 weeks for some bespoke.

Much similar to G&G Deco last, not anything like Lobb.

I am in Denver and he provided this one in less than a week. He will make a test shoes for anything MTO Novecento or better. This is virtual bespoke. After I sent him the pictures with the shoes on, he was able to tell where the issues are. White is tight, red is extra roomy.

There was no charge for shipping the test shoes. For shipping of the final made shoes, it is much less than 80 euros.

How does Riccardo recommend caring for your shoes? Any particular routine, or products?

Maybe its me I just can't feel the love for pigskin ditto its wear issues for exterior use.
