Nah of course they have creases. But they hold up very well, especially the tan Mavericks have superb leather. I measured according to the info I got from him, but for the test shoe there were some flaws in fit, but with pictures and info he fixed that very well for the final pair. Only did some minor changes to fit for the second pair.

It's comfortable for you? Some say the design of long toe will bring uncomfort.

Very comfortable - I think elongated lasts are only a problem when the overall size is too big. That's when you get the "clown shoe" effect. But these were made to my own measurements, so they fit extremely comfortably smile.gif.

Has anyone had any correspondence with Riccardo in the last few days?

Ive been trying to contact him regarding an order I placed last year, but have had no avail. Not sure whether I'm having issues with my email again
post #1402 of 1421
Nope.

He has consistently been non-responsive and always have excuses like email virus etc. You'll find that there are many SF members with similar experiences like yours - which again is consistent.

There are many members here who had ordered from him a year ago or more and still have not received their shoes nor received any response for that matter.

I received a reply from him a few days ago. Its surprising to hear that people have had issues.
I ordered mine last June and haven't received my pair yet, but between the numerous test shoes & the size of the operation vs the demand for his shoes, I can understand it. Despite the odd lack of response, he's been a pleasure to talk with.
Concerning none the least to hear of people not receiving shoes OR responses... that would freak me out given the investment required.

Hi gentlemen,
Does anyone here own both Bestetti and Meccarrilo?
I have two Meccarrilo Aurum and ordered one more and one Argentum. So start to plan my next year purchases and I am strongly considering Bestetti (Prefecta last).
1) are they both pretty close in term of quality and price? Novacento vs Aurum and RTW vs Argentum?
2) does Bestetti Gladiator come in his RTW line or only Novacento?
3) is the sizing different? Should I get fitting shoes from Bestetti or is information based on sizing with other brands is enough?

Thx for any help.
Yes I do own a couple from both. They are different styling and so I would suggest that you have test shoes from both makers as a start. Bestetti's last is very...how to say...Italian. Definitely love it and has different aesthetic

I can't say about quality but bestettis last and form fits my feet better. This is of course not to say that Antonio's wouldn't be able to do that (perhaps in the third or fourth shoes sometimes down the track)

Hope this could be of any help
