Basically, synthetic heroin. Very powerful. Side effect? Your skin starts to slough off.

Robert Wakefield: What are your policies towards treatment of addiction?
General Salazar: Treatment of addiction? Addicts treat themselves. They overdose and then there's one less to worry about.

Some of those pictures look fake. I know people love to get high but I can't believe they are injecting gasoline into their veins.

....painkillers, iodine, lighter fluid, industrial cleaning oil, and an array of vials, syringes, and cooking implements.

What could possibly go wrong?

In my old neighborhood in Toronto, there was a time where none of the burger places had the vinegar packets out in the open. The crackheads were stealing them to dissolve their rocks, then shoot them up for a more intense high. Acetic acid can't be too good for the veins...

wait so it melts your skin off when it touches your skin? how the hell would you survive an injection of that? or are they just getting hurt by the raw, separate ingredients during the manufacturing process?

read the article, the stuff is pure venom and attacks fast growing cells when injected. Basically one starts to rot. One user apparently said that if you miss the vain an abces is certain.. The girls arm is simply the result of prolonged use.

fwiw, aside from the very graphic results this is no different from other drug substitutes. My father remembered seeing the methanol drinkers in ports in Sweden years ago, and there are numerous other examples of when drugs became expensive the addicts started using cheaper more destructive alternatives. Its a pity, but something that is hard to combat..

because of a bronchitis once I had to take codeine drops. For the first time in my life I had a nightmare, checking the next morning if I really had to "nail" my finger nails to keep them attached to my fingers and after opening the door of my house I knew all roads were not made of feces. I am thankful to this experience, it kept me always away from drugs.

Substitute drugs aren't that new, hippies used to smoke nutmeg when they had no grass. But detroying your body with every shot so clearly is insane ..
