What about searching by size.

This may be possible. There would be a skeleton list of rules still (about conduct), but not a big chunk of text about what you can and cannot post, and how. I;ll take a look at this.

Cheers,

Fok.

J is looking at collapsing the seller rules, leaving only the general guidelines, right now.

Can we get rid of all the loading animations and hover effects and stuff? It really slows down scrolling and is just distracting. I'm finding more and more that it's not the layout that bothers me so much as the lack of visual contrast and the abundance of "effects".

I think it would be easy to declutter. You have two ways to access the search bar - the obvious search menua nd then a drop down search, one is unnecessary. Same thing with the forum nav - why two options right underneath each other? Also I get that you want to have ads up on the sidebar, but could you make the reviews/tabs stuff collapsable or removable?

Is there anywhere to post a WTB now?

MUCH better, thank you. I actually feel like browsing B&S again. Good move.

One other thing that may not be possible, but I figure I'll ask. Is there a way for the software to flag up which classified ads are new compared to the last time you logged onto B&S (like how in other subforums, unread threads are highighted)?

Yes. We embedded them directly into the classified sections, so that they get more attention. Just post a listing (including how much you are willing to pay) and choose "WTB".

You can look at ads in a variety of listing options. Check out the "view by" dropdown menu on the right hand of the nav bar.

Is there a way so I can actually search in B&S? As it is if I search "Common Projects" in that forum.. nothing comes up, despite there being 4-5 pairs listed. It just seems that as more and more things get listed, it'll become more impossible to even browse the classifieds.

If I wanted to shop in an environment that was like Ebay I would shop on Ebay.

This is cross posted from the Performance Issues thread, but one way to disable the ads as well as improve performance is to use the firefox add-on NoScript. It blocks scripts by default and you can "whitelist" trusted websites that you want running scripts.

Install it and then only add styleforum.net to your trusted list. keep viglink.com, facebook.net, quantserve.com, and googleadservices.com blocked. this will disable all the advertisements and provide for a much faster browsing experience.

it's a very useful add-on to have generally, really speeds up browsing on bullshit web 2.0 sites like this one and other Huddler websites

J and I are working on sizing tags right now. Search function was broken (go new system). However, it should be fixed, soon. Or I'll go George Constanza Coco the Monkey crazy.

Credit where credit's due. The speed has definitely picked up somewhat now, no more stuttering and crashing. Although I still believe the way in which the stickied threads work needs reviewing, there should definitely be a way to go straight to the last post rather than having to first enter the thread and to then switch to the last page.

I think that j is actually working on this, or a developer.

They should work this way now. I think they got reverted when Fok made an edit. Maybe I will make the links more explicit.
