what about a formalwear (ie tuxedo or prom related questions) subforum to MC?

There seem to be a constant slow drip of new threads related to patent pumps, braces/cumberbands, etc and then the April-ish rush of prom kid questions. probably a small subforum but it could help organize the random threads that pop up in MC/SW&D for newbs.

it could turn into our own little bit of AAAC in a way since I think it's them or London Lounge or whoever who tend to do more of that sort of thing. You might get some 'new' members who're seniors over on those forums if they feel like it's a familiar sandbox to play in.

We welcome AAAC and London Lounge members, but we think that Styleforum's strength is that is is a "big tent", and we like that both MC and SW&D cover a large number of different style. If members from those forums come over and start contributing som great content on a consistent basis, and become leaders in the community, some of them could become "dubiously honored" with the ability to moderate their own threads (with guidelines, of course.)

Hopefully, more senior members will use the new features, so that new members will be steered to the threads dedicated to new member questions, questions about prom tuxes, etc...

Since discovering this forum in January 2011, I have learned so much about men's wear. (It replaced my PS3 forums since I replaced my gaming time for more college degrees).

This new system is a great step forward. What I am looking forward to most are the advanced search functions.

You guys are doing an excellent service!!!

I (and many others) are very grateful.

Looking forward to this. I'm curious if photos are going to be archived in the new system, or will outside hosting still be required? There's a ton of great photos that have been lost because of purging from the outside hosts.

thanks for providing a landing spot for us & putting time & sweat into growing it. Once you start paying attention to what you're wearing, this place provides a lot of creative spark and guidance that helps those of us with less-deep pockets make the most of what we've got.

Curious what the drop date is for the new system. Very eager to see this Thanks again

I would just like to let all of you know that there will be a seller rating system!

That's all. Thought that this would be popular.

Sounds good - especially that product review.

Sounds great! I can't wait.

Despos and a tailor have generously agreed to co-create and co-curate a dedicated "Fit Feedback" thread once we make the transition. They already provide their advice to newbs and "advanced" members alike with exemplary patience and unparalleled expertise. Successive threads started with this theme will be merged into their thread. We are all very grateful to you both!

Wait - what about the rest of us soi-disant experts? The forum won't be the same if we can't speculate about sleeve pitch, divots and bridals...

Does my 100 year CE ban transfer over to the new system?
