I like that we can now filter out what kind of pieces we can look at, but given the one item per listing rule, how about some way to refine which sizes you want to look at, determined in inches and/or centimeters?

This way a person doesn't have to search through all the sub-categories (shirts, trousers, etc.) but can save their measurement preferences for that particular category to display only items that fall within their own measurements.

Seems like it wouldn't be too difficult. You just have radio buttons with measurements that the buyer or seller would choose. So, for Chest Sizes in shirting or outerwear, you would have 7 different size buttons to choose for that item. I imagine it would look like this:

Chest Size
[radio button] 36 inches and lower
[radio button] 36-38
[radio button[ 38-40
[radio button] 40-42
[radio button] 42-44
[radio button] 44-46
[radio button] 46 and up

Then do the same for the shoulder to shoulder measurements, shoulder hem to sleeve cluff, length of item, etc.

These measurements wouldn't have to be mandatory for the seller (it would be nice though), but it would at least help a buyer with a 42 chest to receive only listings that fit the measurements of a 42 sized shirt or jacket, rather than having to sift through a bunch of 36-38 sized shirts. And having measurements instead of tag sizes clears up the US/International sizing dilemma. Sure, everybody measures a little differently, but at least you're getting within the same ball park and once a buyer clicks on the link, usually the seller has more exact measurements listed in the sale anyway. Items like suits that have multiple pieces would have three different fields for the seller to work with (Jacket, vest/waistcoat, trousers) and mirrored for the buyer to be able to select from and then save to their personal preferences.

This will help buyers find exactly what they're looking for and help sellers move their stuff faster because the right people will be finding it.

Anyway, my two cents.

Fok addresses this about a dozen posts back.

Just wanted to point out that introducing a brand new classifieds system without any metadata for sizing is absolutely ridiculous.

At the VERY least allow users to include tagged sizes for various items:

Jackets - 34,36,38,40,42,44,etc
Shoes - 8.5,9,9.5,10,etc
Pants Waist - 30,32,34,36

It won't be a perfect system since measurements vary, but people searching could at least get close by including 38+40 or 9+9.5,etc.

What a waste of a redesign.

The "view first unread post" button shows up on the main forum view page, but not on my Subscriptions page. Can we get that fixed?

I can't believe after all this effort into a new system there isn't a sizing tag scheme. I know some people have probably put a lot of time and effort into this and I respect their work. But I find this missing feature to be remarkably stupid. I would have made it the first and most important feature to work on.

I'm scared of this new system, it's not what I'm used to, I don't like change... blah blah blah

I prefer the look of the older one, although this one is faster.

Hitting the "Go to first unread post" portion of the text bubble button in the left column next to a post requires way too much precision. Is there any way to make that part of the button larger or even better, make that its own button or the only function of the button?

A click on the thread title leads you to the first unread post.

Hmmm, not for me it doesn't. Is that a preference I need to set?

Hmmm as well: doesn't seem to work for me either at the moment. Maybe I was in a different view or they are changing things.

Not fast in my experience. Every page takes forever to load for me, first day glitches?

I too am disappointed in not having search by size range in the new B&S.

Overall some good work to modernize the site, just take some getting used to but no big deal.

Disabling JavaScript effectively halves the time it takes me to load a page (6 seconds with JS enabled, 2-3 disabled), but it is used for so many basic functions that I cannot browse comfortably with it disabled. I doubt there's a quick fix to this.

how do you search for a items in B&S. i was just fucking around and saw "Search This Forum" and when i typed in common projects for just a test, it doesn't find anything listed, but clearly there are like 10 pairs of them on the first page alone?
