Styleforum Moving to New System! - Page 10

Put plainly.

I am not a computer guy.

Most of my surfing is at home with a 17 inch laptop, Windows 7, and IE 9 browser.

The ads on the right take up almost 33% of screen space and are obtrusive.

Is there any simple way to make them take up less than 33% of the screen Real Estate?

I realize that SF is not a public service and I have gotten more from it than I have given to it.

So, though I can readily see why advertisers deserve excellent exposure, is there a happy medium to my current 67% - 33% page look?

Is it just me or have all the sticky's gone? I saw them when I first logged onto the new system, now they are gone!

Just you if you're on SW&D. They're presented as links at the top instead of looking like the regular threads.

Looks like everyone else is screwed, though.

Agree with this.

True. I tried logging into the forum on my 1st gen iPhone and there was a good 1+ second pause between typing in each letter of my username baldy[1].gif

Still, a small amount of AJAX and other JS in places can improve user experience, but this kind of heavy Javascript usage is just totally unnecessary and causes as many problems as it solves.
Seriously I agree. Please fix this. 33 of my screen is taken up, I have to scroll a shitton vertically, and the page loads so freaking slow now, and it lags like he'll on my iphone4. Don't see how this is an update at all.
