I'm really hating this new format for the buy/sell. It's so difficult to just browse now

I actually like the format of B&S. To me it's a hell of a lot easier to browse when shopping.

But you know what they say... opinions are like ass holes -- everybody's got one...

The Dandy Store link is wrong...

OK, it's very slow and laggy for me, it scrolls slowly and with a lot of chop and, worst of all, as I type, it takes a long time for the actual letters to appear after I hit the keys. Not sure if it's just me.

- I don't like the front page because I can't see the forums right away. It takes one click to get to what I consider the main page. I guess I'll just have to bookmark.

- This is a big one, and I doubt I can cure it with a user patch: I can't see whether the stickied threads have new posts! They don't show up like the other threads do. This is a big drawback, as I basically only pay attention to stickied threads these days.

- I also think the vertical spacing is too large - there's a lot of scrolling now.

I agree with these. Readability needs to be tweaked with the new layout. Clamping down on vertical space would help.

Hmmm mine seems to be working normally.

Thank you J and Fok for your work! I am excited to put the new system through its paces.

FIrst thing I checked out was the buying/selling forums. Interested to see how everything gels, but I will say I'm excited for buyer/seller feedback directly attached to user's profiles rather than in a thread. Hopefully it encourages buyers and sellers to leave ratings/details of transactions, as it was so easy to just blow it off in the thread.

Guys-- keep in mind that this new site is chalk-full of hefty JavaScript code, which makes your browser do more of the work when loading each page. Slowness issues are most likely browser/PC-related. If you have an older PC or one that's low on memory, your experience will likely suck. An up-to-date browser would probably not hurt either.

Can anything be done about the fact that sigs are more prominent than the body of the posts? It makes reading difficult.

Is there a way to create tags for classified threads? I didnt see the option when creating my listing.

Also how do I edit my signature? - I dont see this feature either.

I utilize a 13" MacBook, which I hook up to a 25" screen. On the 13" screen the forum is basically impossible to browse, the forum feels like CNN headline news: info / sensory overload The ad space takes up too much of the screen. On the 25" browsing is much easier, but there is still a sense of too many things happening at once.

One major thing I noticed is that the context of the forum does not expand beyond a certain range and if I try to go full screen the gray area (columns) on either side just gets bigger the size of the context stays the same. Perhaps if the forum were to forgo the gray area and go from end-to-end of the browser, it would make for a more comfortable browsing experience.

I'm still learning the new features, but the ability to directly upload photos to SF is a great idea, so is the apparent lack of PM limit. smile.gif

This is my biggest issue right now. I'm not sure if I'm being a cantankerous old man and am just resistant to change, but it seems like SF takes a lot more work to scroll through threads.
