realtor question

i'm thinking of leasing out my condo. what is a typical commission to expect if using a realtor? i'm in texas if that makes a difference.

One locale will be different from another. Call some management companies and ask them. Specify that you want to know ALL the fees which you have to pay.

grundletaint, you would look for a property management company to rent out your condo, not a realtor. You can typically expect around 10% for one unit. If you have a lot more units, then the rate goes down.

thanks for the tips. i'm not even looking for management as much as just someone to market it and find a tenant.

i'm in a situation now that i'm using a friend as my realtor. the place hasn't sold so i'm thinking about leasing it out but i don't want to bring that up with her and have her assume she's gonna list it without knowing what realtors typically get out of it...i don't mind sliding her 100 bucks or something but i'm not gonna give her 4% if that's the case.
