During the last couple of years I have stuffed myself with RLPL shirts bought on the Bicester/Oxford outlet for a extremely reduced price relative to RRP/MSRP.
Just today I bought two at £50 each, when the sticker says RRP= £300
Now, I know that this £300 price is not total BS like the RRP quoted by permanent discounters like Charles Tyrwhitt. These shirts are actually priced at £300 on RL London's flagship outside of the sales periods, and sold at a fantastic (
) discount of 30-50% in the RL London and Harrods Summer/Christmas sales, etc
Then you have Italian shirts like Canali and Pal Zileri, that sell their main line shirts for £130-150 during most of the year and then go down to £55(Outlet)-75 (Non outlet) during the sales
I have a bunch of these shirts and they don't seem any worse to me than the RLPLs
So my questions to the 'shirt gurus' in SF are:
1) How do RLPL shirts compare to main line Zileri/Canali quality wise?
2) Who the hell (take away the rich and stupid/ignorant/can afford not to care) ever buys RLPL shirts at their RRP/MSRP?
