Old Spice....a man's cologne.

The smell reminds of fun fairs, turkish immigrants in germany and picking up girls...

Nobody is talking about how various colognes react differently to each persons body chemistry. The same thing can smell very differently on different people. The important thing is that it is pleasing to the person you are pursuing romantically. It can also be a great pickup line in the right circumstances. "Do you like this fragrance on Me, and why or why not? It's worked for me. If it works, wear it, & screw public opinion. I used to date a girl who went nuts for "Old Spice". It reminded her of a college professor she had a crush on. She always went down faster than a submarine!

Apparantly girls love the smell of (vintage) Brut aswell, from what I've heard. I'm not gonna try and find out though..

Some women I know name it as their favorite scent. I refuse to wear it just because it is too commonplace. On the other hand, I think people get too hung up on which scents are more "sophisticated." I go by four characteristics: (1) is it relatively uncommon, (2) how long does it last, (3) how well does it project, and (4) do my female friends unanimously approve of it.

Wow, so what happens if you happen to like a scent, before your female friends approve. Don't you have an opinion, taste of yourself? Do you need women to pick your stuff, like moms did?

This is probably the wrong place for this thread, but I'll give two cents. I also don't care for commonly used fragrances. Smells have heavy influence on our memory, so It's important to have a unique, likeable scent, especially in regards to the opposite sex. For me, uniqueness, longevity, likeability, are important. Sillage that spreads, not so much for me, I like a woman to have an excuse for getting a closer smell

Cool story, bro?

Notice how it is number four on the list? Of course I have an opinion or else I wouldn't bother taking a small tester of it. However, I'm not wearing cologne for you guys; sorry SFers. I wear cologne to enjoy the scent and also for women to enjoy. As a side note I am currently all hits on my choices except for V by Valentino, which the women like but I have grown weary of it after a few wears.

You do it your way, and I'll do it mine.
