still using the shitty headphones that came with my ipod, they are uncomfortable, sound like shit, and dont block out other noise at the gym or while running....

I'd like to stay at around $60 or under.

I saw those but really want the 'ear bud' style and dont think they come that way

I use Panasonic Ergofits, they're cheap so I don't much care about having to replace and the sound is good, plus they don't fall out of my ears (they pass the significantly more strenuous test of being used while skiing, so the gym ain't no thang).

They have a bunch of different ones going from like 15 bucks a pop up to 50ish.

I use Skull Candy earbuds very similar to these: http://www.amazon.com/Skullcandy-INK...8785509&sr=8-1 They cancel noise quite well, and I use them running with no issues falling out except for on ultra long 10+ mile runs when they get REALLY wet from sweat. Mine also have a little slider on the cord to control volume which I find handy while running instead of trying to use sweaty fingers on the iPod scrollwheel. EDIT: I also put them through the washing machine once by accident and they still work like new!

The thing about the "ear bud" style is that sometimes it's good to be able to still hear a little of the outside world... i.e., car horns or people shouting at you because you've dropped your keys.

I have these, they've been great for the 6+ months I've had them. http://www.nuforce.com/hp/products/ne6/index.php

Sennheiser CX300s are good, I have had them... only problem is the wire is a little delicate. Altec Lansing's Backbeat Plus are durable; they have a cloth cable cover. Only prob with them is their sound is a little harsh, they have a resonance at about 3kHz I currently have some JVC something or other earbuds I use on my Ipod, and Auvio something or other earbuds I keep at my work computer. Both are great and like $20, the JVCs I got from Bestbuy and the Auvios I got from Radio Shack.

I got tired of the earbud wires getting caught on everything so I went with wireless earbuds. Sony makes some nice ones and they come with a bluetooth adapter if you don't have one on your phone. It's pretty easy to link up to your phone. here's a tutorial

I picked up these Sony ones for like $40 I believe, they work well for athletics. They have the ear clip and are "sweat proof" and can get quite loud, and realistically they were pretty cheap.

They are on sale for like $27 now...
