Gilt has definitely gone downhill but always had a fair share of problems. I like the Hickey suits I bought off them. However, the one time I scored a RLBL suit from Gilt, they sent me the jacket without pants. When I emailed them about it, they said they couldn't find the pants WTF...

On a good note, now a days they carry decent bedding on sale if you need any. That's pretty much all I've purchased in the last 1-2 years from them.

Gilt is the worst. I ordered these chinos from Hickey Freeman's website yesterday during the add'l 25% off sale for $48 with free shipping.

I understand that there might be a bit of wiggle room when trying to guess-timate the retail of something made specifically for Gilt, but to do so--especially to this extent--for something that is currently on sale directly from the manufacturer is downright fraudulent.

Maybe not the best idea, but I just ordered a set of Bellino and a set of Anichini bedding from Gilt last week. The sales were ~ 70% off retail, which is rare with higher end Italian bedding. In fact, I don't think I've ever seen Anichini on sale before... We'll see if my GF appreciates it.

Hmm, when I call up the Sportsman on the RE website, I can't find a polarized version. So I mistakenly thought the Gilt was the same model. Even knowing the polarized version exists, I still can't find them on the RE website. Anyway, good catch.

Hm, not so sure about their bedding anymore either. Spent ~ $1000 on Anichini bedding during their recent sale. On their website, was labeled as 500 thread count, but everything I received was 300 thread count.

When I called them about it, the rep asked me repetitively over 5 times "Are you sure it says 300 on the package and you aren't misreading it?" Seriously, does he think I can't distinguish a 3 from a 5?

Anyway, in the end they gave me options of either (1) returning it (with no compensation for their mistake including on shipping fees) or (2) take partial credit for the mistake.

Very annoying overall especially with the fact that the rep didn't believe me when I first called them about the error.

I'm surprised to hear some of the stories above, but I can detect a lot of their bullshit from the way they word and depict their wares. For example, they sell low-level Calvin Klein and Hilfiger suits - almost certain the same ones you can get at Macys - as "Calvin Klein Suiting". There is no such thing!

Gilt's M.O. is to sell a perceived value and not always deliver it...............they up-sell and misrepresent many of their products. I've only bought 1 thing from Gilt a few years ago, but it was RLPL and there is no way to "up-sell" or misrepresent that item. I knew exactly what I was getting when I ordered it.

I don't understand why can't anybody take them to court over this? I mean this business runs in the US and there are all kind of lawsuits everywhere.

What they do is deceiving the public into thinking that they have just saved money when they don't really save "that much" money.

Sadly, I don't live in the country where I was so loved with anymore, so there is not much that I can do.

It could be different season stuff that was priced differently. Sometimes you can use it to tell which season it is from based on the list price.

Just got a few things from Park and Bond, wrong info on all the APC, going to see if they let me return without paying their high charges.
