yeah, but it's more like I size up for the shirts. Coats fit me perfectly in a 4. Every single one I've gotten my hands on hits spot on at the sleeves and shoulders and I own 4. Shirts I wear a 5 in the regular fit, but the shoulders are a hair big. The slim fit I can't even wear a 5 because of the chest button pull.

(I'm 5-10, 150ish)

You can still fit into a size 4 on his more tailored coats?

I'm about 5'10 and 155 +/- and wear a V in his Berber coat from F/W '12

Maybe I'm just lucky not to have bought one that fits slim. The trench I just bought isn't a slouchy coat or anything though. I didn't try the berber. Mine are the alpaca and merino coats from frozen waves and the quilted bomber and trench from this year.

Oh, and I have the bomber from common ivy in a 5 that I bought from tonio but it fits pretty big on me and I think a 4 would probably be better. I also have a few knits and I'm a 4 in all of them. I bought a 3 in the turk cardi because I was scared it would be too baggy, but it's real slim and I wish I had a 4 (anyone?)

3 = XS
4 = S
5 = M

Is the general consensus, yes?

Knits, if it is a thick knit should be sized TTS. In the case of #18, I think people are better off sizing TTS or down, TTS if they are in between, down if they are smaller e.g. slimmer medium, go for a small. For thinner, finer knits like the Turk Cardigan, sizing down is a bad idea. The composition doesn't lend itself to much stretch IME and can end up looking tight on the body.

Coats and jackets IMO should be TTS or down one similar to thick knits. TTS also if you care to layer.

That's just my general experience, and not solely with SS but other designers. I think it is 50/50 about being honest with your size / body type, and understanding fully the way material of the clothes is composed to best hang and wear on your body. I know length wise when people point out something is too long, perhaps the intention of the design is to have it drape.

Bah I was convinced I should get a 5 in #3 then gettoasty says he wears a 5 in coats. I'm about 6' 185lbs, now I'm thinking I should go for a 6.

I don't think you'll fit into a 5 in his coats, they tend to run narrow in the p2p and shoulders and at your specs no way you'd fit into a 5.

True to size for the tailored coats, size down on the more relaxed ones.
My Alpaca is a size 4, I was a 4 for the Merino, but my Berber in size 5 fits perfectly and a 4 would be unwearable. By looking at the pictures, I would probably be a 5 in #3.

You might want to wait and get measurements. Schneider stuff is pretty easy to flip, but a green coat at that price point might not be so easy, especially in a size 6.

On the other hand, that's a piece that I don't expect everyone to pick up so you might miss it altogether. Man, it's so sweet. You're going to be sweating it out all summer either way. I want you to get it just so I can see the pics.

Yeah the consensus seems to be go TTS for the tailored stuff but what's throwing me is the description seems to suggest the body is a bit relaxed + the fact I'm in cali so the most I'd wear underneath is a shirt.

I'll probably just make a decision last minute and hope for the best.

RE: Stephan Schneider. You'll Always Find Me In The Kitchen At Parties.

Are there complete pics available yet of A/W 13? Trying to decide about preorder, but would like to know about other color options, e.g., are the colors of 18 available in other pieces?

Honestly I would go with a 6 considering what your height weight, tailored coat Is gonna be a tailored coat and the only one that comes to mind is the "plain" coat from last season that ran tts. And if you end up not liking the sizing at 6 I'd probably be interested in it.

The only options available I presume would be sent out only to retailers, you could possibly send them an email with the product you want but I highly doubt you'll get anywhere.

FYI if anyone has a capital one or other card with no foreign transaction fees: I ordered with the credit card option on SP it was really convenient. Saved me probably 20 bucks in paypal conversion fees.
