Size III Alpaca:

Shoulder ~ 18"
Chest ~ 21"
Sleeve ~ 25.5"
Length ~ 27"

Those are perfect measurements (over sized already).
My tops are similar and the shoulders are about .5" wider which is negligible because this is outerwear.
Chest would be perfect with a layered tee or button down
Sleeve is good, 1" longer than say a suit jacket for me but again is negligible as it is outerwear

Size IV would be huge unless the inner knit will account for some of the roominess as well.

So really, how thick is that interior knit of the Alpaca jacket? Enough to go TTS on the jacket? IV = 48 = US38, which I typically am. More like a 38S

Thanks Snake and drizzy. I went through like 40 pages of fit pics on this thread, lol, and I remember your fit and was thinking about sizing it as a IV.

Now I just gotta save up for one of the longer FW coats.

toast - if you want to wear it as intended (i.e. lookbook), you probably want a IV

how tall are you, snake? size iii fits you perfectly.

from what i've seen, the alpaca jacket ends up looking like any basic hoodie when worn fitted, although it could just be bad styling/photography.

Already tried to tell you toasty, measurements on the alpaca jacket are misleading. Size 3 will probably fit you fine but a 4 would be ideal.

So are you all sizing the outerwear mostly the same?

Size IV is a small so that is also normal for me.

SS is not one of those designers who have different sizing season to season but rather fairly consistent?

No, SS is not perfectly consistent from piece to piece. We were talking about sizing for this specific jacket

From what I have seen from SP, I want at least two F/W '12 jackets but want to save the trouble of sizing all over the place

SS is not THAT hot IMO that you'd need to pre-order to buy something you like. There's an increasing number of retailers that carry the line - and many pieces even end up on sale at season end.

First one is pretty dope, hopefully will finally have an income in these next few weeks to buy some of this

Yeah I'm also 59 44/46 and I got a sz iii. It's the light grey version w plaid lining though. Snake u want to swap?
