Except I don't know many people who would categorize Gunners fans as bandwagoners, given that we've been doing pretty sub-par of late. If you really want to not be a bandwagoner, support QPR, they need it

I have a soft spot for Wolves because I like their name, I like their emblem, and I like their orange kits
I don't see how Arsenal isn't a bandwagon club, but City is. Sure City is buying anyone and everyone, but Arsenal has perennially been in the Champions League while City hasn't won anything. I know Champions League isn't exactly winning anything, but a team that is usually top-4 in the Premier League qualifies as a bandwagon club. City's a couple of years of sustained success away for me. As for finding definite non-bandwagon teams, how about Fulham? They're a solid middle of the table team with a prominent American player. I enjoy watching Dempsey (or any American in the Premier League). Everton's another option, but it isn't as exciting (to me at least) to follow a team for a keeper instead of a midfielder/forward.

as there seem to be some gunners here can i rant and ask what the hell wenger is playing at, letting a team that collapsed at the end of last season come into this one so ramshackle and weakened? i was at the emirates last night and it was one of the nerviest matches i've ever attended. thankfully we held on but we now have liverpool, udinese and man u in the space of a week. if this goes wrong the mood among supporters will veer from mutinous to murderous.

Barca-RM is another excellent war! Great first half.

Some great plays already; some incredible defense and tackles...Dani Alves on CR7, damn. So good.

Pique > Leo!!!! Wow! Nice goal.
Did I hear correctly that Leo now has 8 goals in 5 Supercopa matches? That's phenomenal.

Edit: Now 9 Messis in 5 matches, and what a goal! :worship:

I'm so tired of the Inter market rumors. Eto'o yes/no/maybe? Sneijder yes/no/maybe? Tevez/Forlan/Lavezzi yes/no/maybe? (I would love it if Forlan came.) Drogba now being chattered???
It's exhausting.
I guess I should stop reading the minute-by-minute updates from Gazzetta....::lol:

RM only have themselves to blame for this supercopa loss. They missed so many chances during the previous game. Benezema and Ronaldo missed at least 4 times. Pretty pathetic. This match was more even, but the last much was completely one-sided. Barca had something like 3 shots on goal and scored 2. RM had more possession and something like 10 shots on goal and got only two in.

:nodding::nodding::nodding::nodding: Messi is just....so good.

Oh, and don't forget the inevitable red card and cynical tackle from Real Madrid right at the end.

You stay classy, Mou...

They can blame their defense as well, then. Actually Barca had more possession (60%) in the first match, and today as well. RM had more chances...and many more fouls in the 1st match. The fouls were even today, but Pepe and Marcelo....... 6 yellows and 2 reds. I certainly don't think RM gave it away, however. Barca deserved it.

Yeah, that Marcelo/Mourinho/Ozil thing at the end was ridiculous. Mou is becoming really annoying. Too many mood swings and histrionics. I am no longer sad he left Inter.

Brilliant supercopa (except for the fracas at the end and whatever the hell Jose did to that asst Barca coaches' head)

I hope this does not discourage RM from playing open attacking football because they looked great, despite not taking advantage of their many opportunities.

Barca are a ridiculously talented team. I am not sure anyone can stop them. The best in the world, again.

The GOL tv announcer is hilarious, who is that? I thought he was going to jump out of his skin. Not the American, the other guy.

good lord, Jose needs to stop that sort of thing. He did something bizarre in the CL semifinal last year too, can't recall what it was. I am a Chelsea fan, and he was never this eccentric with us.

Funny how some people were downplaying the supercopa before it started: It is preseason, no big deal, it is just like the Prem league community shield the players get to run about a bit for fun etc.....

There is no insignificant match between these teams. It must be the fiercest sports rivalry in the world (more than River/Boca).

Honestly, the rivalry was never this ugly before Mourinho showed up.

He has the unique ability to bring the worst out of everyone.

Ugh... being an RM fan seems like branding oneself a glutton for punishment. :brick:

Not sure what's up with Mou. Just a poor loser, I suppose - true colors finally coming out. Still do think he's a great couch, although probably more a douche than I'd originally wanted to believe.

When Benzema pulled it back, I jumped out of my chair and cheered. Leave it to RM's defense to cough one up with less than 5 minutes left.

I loved looking at everyone pre-game in the tunnel. I saw Xavi, Pique, and Pedro and immediately thought Madrid's chance was gone (the three having not started the last leg). Barça is just so bloody good.

It was fun to see Cesc in the Barcelona #4 shirt. Kind of cool - still hope he gets madly hamstrung though and Arsene smirks to himself.

But he is brilliant.

He is, but he's been toeing the line for awhile. Last year Calderon was really pissed at his UEFA CL ref comments, etc. I doubt Calderon is very happy tonight about the Famous Supercopa 2012 Barca Asst. Coach Ear Pinch.

He's always been a great tactician, motivator, media manipulator, but lately he seems also more out of control.

This is just from his first year at RM. We'll see what this year has in store....

Running down his entire list of histrionics in his first season at Madrid, you would need a booklet to chronicle all of Mourinho's antics.

The master of mind games didn't waste time aggravating his peers in La Liga. Just five weeks into the new campaign, he picked his first fight with Sporting Gijon coach Manolo Preciado, accusing him of gifting Barcelona three points in the title race by fielding a weakened team. Ironically, it would be Sporting and Preciado who would indeed hand the league to Barca by beating Madrid at the Bernabeu in April.

Jose didn't have to wait long for his first exile either when he was banished to the stands in his very first Copa del Rey game, against Murcia. He quickly followed that up with a touchline suspension in the Champions League when he engineered the intentional red cards of Sergio Ramos and Xabi Alonso to wipe their slate clean ahead of the knockout rounds.

Mourinho's over-zealous celebrations at El Madrigal against Villarreal almost led to Cani hurling a water bottle hand grenade at the Portuguese. He was then branded a cry-baby by Valencia coach Unai Emery for his constant referee protests, he had a rift with his own general-director, Jorge Valdano, and he imposed a press silence after he was handed a five-game ban by Uefa for his outburst against Barcelona in the Champions League. He also succeeded in bringing the worst out of Pep Guardiola after a barrage of media mind games.

On the pitch, the 'Special One' saw his proud 150-game unbeaten league record at home come crashing to a spectacular end, not once but twice in the space of 28 days. He suffered the biggest loss of his coaching career in the 5-0 demolition by Barcelona, but he also inflicted record home defeats on Valencia and Sevilla.

All in a year's work.

Arg, are you a Real fan?

And an Arsenal fan? I hope Fabregas has a brilliant season.
