Yes. This is begining to remind me of cycling a few years ago. Starting to wonder if guys aren't doing EPO or some similar product.

For today we should remember the man and player.

RIP

Lovely group of footie fans here. Ashley Young was simply helping the Villa defense do what they do best--nothing. He went down easy and the Villa defense went down easier.

Needs to work on his landing but I think he can get a medal for gymnastics at the Olympics.

Galatasaray vs Besikts game was insane, the fans started pelting Eboue (again, it seems, as they did it back in November too) and even a few got onto the pitch trying to attack him eek.gif

here's a link *** GOAL.COM *** so who knows what's real or not, will add a more legit English source if/when I find one

Turkey is just as bad, if not worse, than Russia as far as racism goes. I feel bad for the players that it happens to, but there's also a part of me that wonders what the hell they're thinking joining those teams. Take the banana peel that was recently thrown at Chris Samba, who plays for Anzhi now. Yeah, it's a terrible thing to do and for anyone to have to experience, but you're a black guy and everyone knows there's terrible incidences of racism there. Maybe don't go?

So, beyond the new Euro Kits, Nike has hit up all their international squads w/ new kits.

500

All interesting options. But let's hear it for the Stars&Stripes getting their first decent kit since 2005.

920

None of this dark navy / white crap. One thinks of the American flag, and it's the stars and bars in red and white. Finally a kit that looks like it's American.

Also, Australia's looks pretty good (far left). Poland was picked up by Nike (not sure when) but looks too close to Switzerland for my taste. No way is Neymar as broad as CR7. Like that they're staying w/ the horizontal stripes for France, inasmuch as I loved their previous away kit in the white w/ blue stripes. Netherlands home looks interesting w/ those diamond patterns of different orange.

Edit: Does anyone know the history of why Slovakia has that really unique "jagged line" pattern on their kits?

Ewwww......for some reason that new USA kit looks decidedly UN-american. I can't quite put my finger on it...looks more French than American.

I am glad they went away from the stupid sash, but this one is not so good.

Yes, because the answer to racism is to let the racists win. uhoh.gif

german fans threw bananas onto the pitch when blacks from the england squad stepped onto the field.

also, john terry.

racism is everywhere, and not going somewhere because of racism is not really addressing bigotry but a cowardly reaction.

Jagged lines - It's Slovenia, not Slovakia, I believe. In their flag, Slovenia has that "jagged line" - the image of Mount Triglav, Slovenia's highest peak. I'm guessing that's where it comes from.
