in 2,5 we'll know the pairings in the CL quarter final. zlatan is the man of the hour for me and i can see milan win the CL and the scudetto. thoughts?
priceless

Just saw the fixtures. If Milan can get the consistentcy they will be through; I think Messi over Zlatan, but Milan over Barca in the end. Final?

Benfica over Chelsea for sure

Edit: I may have to take time off of work to watch that game Milan vs. Barca should be an incredible game.

...garbage arsenal almost knocked milan out over two legs.

crapfica vs epl's dirtiest offering, will be quite the dive festival.

madrid luck out with apolol draw, can't be any easier, and then to face marseille/bayern. why not just fast-trac them into the final at this point

3-4 aggregate over two legs almost overturned result of first match is pretty close for a team as awful as arsenal's

All this European competition and a lone EPL team likely to be knocked out in this round or the next, it's just too funny at this point

Drawing conclusions like this is very dangerous . . . but . . we shall see

I was similarly chastised for basing my predictions on domestic form when considering the Marseille-Inter draw but it really does make a difference, especially for forwards.

Here's something to consider, if you please. Zlatan has been leading Milan without a doubt. The others have contributed to some degree, but Ibra is at 19 vs 9 for Nocerino, 4 each for Robinho and Boateng. This over-reliance on Ibra is dangerous. He tends to disappear in big games. Certainly he had great contributions when facing Arsenal, but you'd be hard-pressed to claim Arsenal are now "big" opposition. Consistent 4th place finishes in a deteriorating league does not warrant such a label especially as season after season there is an exodus of its top players. In any case, Ibra has been very successful on the domestic scene, winning 8 league titles consecutively regardless of where he has been, but it's on the greater stage that he's always fallen short. Not a single CL title to his name, and it's no coincidence that teams relying on him to spearhead the attack have failed at important stages.

I do admit that, the deeper into the tournament, the more irrelevant predictions become (except when discussing Barcelona's thrashing of United in finals, that's pretty straight-forward).

So, if there was nothing useful to be found in what I said, let's at least enjoy this megalomaniac's newest adventure

Drogba made a meal out of some light challenges yesterday (especially the peek-a-boo eye moment), but Chelsea is not a team of divers. Please hate them for other reasons.

They are old and slow.

I find it interesting that Barça and Madrid were drawn on opposite sides of the table. I wonder how that worked out.

And people will rag on RM for getting Apoel, but someone had to.

That Milan/Barça two-leg will be epic. Definitely matchup of the tournament thus far. It's hard to say that Milan will beat the cules though. I'd love it, but Milan just don't have the resourcefulness or defensive solidarity to take down Barça. I'd pick Benfica over Chelsea UNLESS they keep up this recent form. Might just be fantastic to see a Chelsea/Madrid final w/ Mou at the helm. Bayern will crush Marselle, tough matchup between Bayern and Madrid. No matter how you split up the quarters, the semifinals are going to be fantastic.

DL , you should know by now I like Didier. And you know well Chelsea have no problems going down, especially with the likes of big daddy D and Ivan the terrible ... this by no means suggests they do it more than anybody (that would be a silly claim). The real problem in this match-up is Benfica. One could write a thesis about how vile that team is, has been, and will be. History bears witness to this. Fascists, dirty, corrupt, awful fans, etc. They will ruin the match, I promise you this.
