Wouldn't it have been funny if Mario Gomez hit 5 against Basel?

Ugly game to watch, that. Really hoped FC Basel could pull the massive upset.

Closer to game time, if anyone has a stable linke to the RM/CSKA game, I'd appreciate it. My normal selection over the last few games have been getting shut down by the feds after 30-35 minutes.

Seriously embarrassing for Napoli.

I was home sick (awful) but at least was able to watch the game today.

It was amazing. Napoli looked dangerous going forward the entire time, and I was convinced they were going to win the tie until the end. What killed them was that they had no solution for balls played into their box, whether crosses or set pieces. They had great away support, although I can't stand that whistling.

Chelsea looked better than I have seen in years. It is hard to believe this is the same group of players who looked listless and plodding just a few weeks ago. Drogba was a monster who overpowered everyone in his way, just like back in the day. Terry, Cech and Lamps delivered. It was a great old school performance by these guys.

And Luiz actually defended.

The score line looks bad for Napoli, but I can't be hard on them. They ran into a team of veterans who have been here before and who had everything to prove to their fans, their manager, their owner and themselves.

Someone is going to drop by and complain about Chelsea this or that (I do it all the time), but this was a huge victory that they deserved and that they can build on.

gary lineker rule applied + fussballgott had his day off.

I meant Gomez hitting 5 right on top of Messi achieving that, and subsequent hail as "world's greatest ever."

I stand by having wanted Basel through against Bayern. No offense intended Fritzl

i know what you meant. that's why i said no. gomez became a good scorer, he's not a good player.

actually, you seem not aware of the gary lineker rule. i wanted basel to pull it off. fc hollywood is not among my favorite teams.
I am not familiar with said rule.
