Per espn soccernet - Le Parisien reports its gonna be Becks to PSG for £670,000 per month. Damn its good to be Beckham. The only thing I could think of that would be better than being a pro footballer would be being a super wealthy pro footballer living in Paris.

I suppose Suarez can take solace in the fact that the police haven't charged him for his "incident" with Evra. Sure Terry said a racial slur...on the pitch...in a match. Does it really need a police investigation?

You know, race relations in Europe are an interesting thing. From what I've seen and heard they seem to be getting worse as time goes on and it'll be interesting (in a terrible sort of way) to see where it goes. And for whatever reason, football often brings it out - maybe it has less to do with football though and more to do with crowds of people gathered together (likely drinking.)

The reason the police investigated the Terry case was because a complaint was made to them - therefore they're legally bound to investigate. No complaint was made to the police in regard to the Suarez incident.

Did Ferdinand file the complaint?

I don't think it's been revealed - it could have been a witness.

It's like calling someone blonde in English. Description, not insult.

THIS. It was startling to visit my then-gf's family in Medellin, Colombia, and have the host loudly greet two black people who came in with "Here are the Negritos!".

It was easy for Europe to not be racist when they were essentially all-white. What we're seeing now is an adjustment period, things will settle down, but it may take a generation.

Europe has been significantly non-white for longer than a generation now...

Certainly Western Europe - it's a bit different in Eastern Europe

this damn thread never moves anymore.

Whar is the trash talk?

Where is Sir Leedsguy?

Where are all the fairweather United fans?

Where is COYS? Spurs look good.

Arsenal looking better as well.

The schedule for tomorrow/today depending on time zone:

Chelsea v Fulham (1300)
Bolton v Newcastle (1500)
Liverpool v Blackburn (1500)
Man Utd v Wigan (1500)
Sunderland v Everton (1500)
West Brom v Man City (1500)
Stoke v Aston Villa (1945)

Okay so no top 4 matchup but still...

Boards always calm down around holidays as people indulge in their non-virtual lives.

Plus the Spanish Primera is on a break so....

It'll be interesting to see if Wigan can get a result for the third straight time against a team from the upper-tier of the table, albeit away this time.

Can't believe Arsenal failed to pick up those 3 points and get ahead of Chelsea. And if they do manage to edge Chelsea out for that top 4 spot by the end of the season, will Andre Villas-Boas keep his job finishing at number 5? All this is, of course, assuming Tottenham don't falter.

Also looks like Corinthians are back in the Tevez race. This is more morbidly entertaining than was the Fabregas transfer saga.
