I am looking for a versatile summer jacket and pants and saw this Havana linen suit on pre-order. Do you think it can be split up when I feel like doing so? The jacket configuration is pretty casual (patch pockets, soft shoulders), so I don't see a problem there, do you?

Which one of these for job interviews + other formal events. I rarely wear suits so I'm looking for one that I could use in almost any occasion. I've tried on the Sienna in the Chicago store and it's the best fitting model on me off the rack.
I'd go with either these two. Darker is more conservative and appropriate for interviews. It says grey, but I'd call it charcoal. Fun color to wear IMO for formal events.

I don't own a Navy suit. I'm honestly leaning towards grey as I believe I could wear that more universally than navy (interviews, weddings, possibly even funerals).

Thanks, I was actually leaning towards these two dark ones myself.

Navy is more appropriate for interviews and funerals, and just as appropriate for weddings as grey. Navy is the most universal colour in menswear, and should be everyone's first suit colour.

I'll keep that in mind when I visit SuitSupply again. Thank you for your input.

I'm not sure why you consider navy more appropriate for interviews, etc. charcoal and navy are equally appropriate.

As for the 2 suits above, if you are looking for a basic interview etc suit, I would avoid the Sienna due to the ticket pocket.

You could split it. In fact, I'd suggest that you'll probably find more use for it as separates than as a suit. A light grey linen suit sounds useful, but I once had a not-dissimilar one and found it a bit trickier to use as a suit than you might expect; the colour & fabric combination made it quite tricky to pick shirts & ties for it. YMMV, of course.

The only other suit that looks somewhat contemporary and comes in a standard Navy or Charcoal is the Napoli and that does not fit me well.

Well, he's looking for a versatile suit, and I'd argue that navy is more versatile than charcoal.

How so? I'm with msulinski and see them as equally versatile and appropriate for the situations you mentioned. Personally, though, I prefer charcoal over navy.

That's what I thought, thank you!
