Let's just keep this thread constructive, where people can ask questions about sizing, what cuts work for body types, fabric quality, stuff like that to help people decide if the maker is right for them. If you think something looks odd, like lapels jetting over the shoulders or a coat being too short/long/boxy, then point out the details and let's discuss.
I'm curious to hear what it is that Quadcammer does not like and whether he would say the same thing regarding some of the fits that looked very nice to my untrained eye. Yours was one of those, and I think it might aid in the discussion of what body types work best for Suit Supply. IIRC, you are a pretty slim guy?

chocsosas looks pretty good, i will admit.
Its hard to put my finger on what is off about many of the fit pics. A lot of it may have to do with the wrong cut for the wrong person or simply the wrong size. The lapel height seems to be a universal issue though. They seem to have a pretty high button stance also.
I'll post some images of my suits tonight....so you guys can express your dissatisfaction and constructive opinions.
Ha I'm just kidding and quite frankly as was mentioned, internet opinions shouldn't bother anyone if one is actually satisfied with their purchase. Internet forums are merely for discussions....not for personal validation.
With that said I love my suits and fit. As soon I can confirm quality over the next few months I will have little left to attempt to complain about.

I agree.. some of the fit pics I see on here from some of the older gents are not my cup of tea.. but I feel that style is so personal that you can't look at someone and say that's wrong. It might be wrong for you but not overall. If they carry it well then so be it.

That would be great, the more pictures of fit the better. Honestly I would love to purchase a SS suit, the thing is I am fairly muscular up top and large thighs..I think most of the suits would simply be too tight for me. I may travel to Frankfurt in November for my grand-mothers 90th (heyoooo) and will take a look at the MTM option at the Suit Supply store in Dusseldorf. Has anyone had any experiences with the MTM?
EDIT - just seen this was posted several pages ago, apologies. My rampant opinions are still somewhat valid though.

Sneak peak at their FW12 - I'm sadly not super impressed, some of their stuff has enormous lapels which are just unwearably big. I also feel that peak lapels on any form of herringbone or tweed blazer is just a little off if you see what I mean, it sort of opposes the rustic simplicity of the fabric.
Psyched to see some more of their coats though, really hope they've got a nice thick double breasted in navy - I don't have the cash to go crazy on a nice overcoat and I think if anyone was going to get a well priced one right it would be SS.
I'm surprised so many people keep saying this. IMO they are ripping off styling cues from Tom Ford (big peak lapels... 3 piece...) and if the suits were labeled TF everyone would be gushing over them.

There are 2 areas where SS seems to work:
1) SS appears to be better for slimmer guys who are still built like they play a sport. I think chocsosa said once he was a LeBron size which means tall, with broad shoulders and chest, but still tapered to his waist. I am a 6' version of that (minus the barrel chest, unfortunately). I'm built like a cross country runner and I have played soccer my whole life. I can wear a 38-40 jacket then drop to a 32 waist on the pant.
2) The company is Dutch and caters to young people, therefore some of the styling is more fashion forward than say Brooks Brothers. Higher button stances and higher notches is one of those. So if you want a Euro cut then it may be an option. If you want fuller cut, classic American style then probably not.
Personally, I like the higher notch because I think it looks sleeker compared to the below-your-tie-knot notches of the 80s and 90s. And on the fit, for a guy like me, I have found their jackets have a bigger drop and therefore need less alterations through the body.
There will always be outliers. SS has 3 different factories, and you're bound to have some discrepancies between them. Myself as an example, I didn't touch the jacket on the first Napoli suit I bought, then 6 months later I get a 2nd and I had to do some tailoring. Some areas were identical - shoulders, sleeves, length - but the body was slightly different. So it goes.
So to quad's point above, yeah it's not going to work for everyone. A colleague of mine who is of similar build but paunchier in the stomach had a J Press blazer. Fit him well. I put it on and thought it was like wearing a box. What has been good about Style Forum for me is that I can see people in other brands and start to get a sense of what may or may not work. Saves me time and shipping fees when looking for suits.
