The navy suit is the Napoli 38R and the gray suit is the Lazio 38R. I had the sleeves lengthened on the Napoli, but not the Lazio. Is there anything I can do about the jacket/sleeve length? Do the pants fit appropriately? I've only worn each suit once, but purchased them over 30 days ago. Is there any chance that SS will exchange or accept a return?

I work in a conservative environment (law firm/finance/accounting) and I need these to work in an office setting. Am I totally screwed? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It looks like you should have gone for a 38L. The sleeves are definitely too short on both. The jacket is a bit short but lengthening it will only accentuate the higher buttoning point. The jacket looks like it's pulling in the back but I think that's mostly because of how you're holding your arm to take a picture.

In my very non-professional opinion I'd say you at least need to have the sleeves lengthened from the shoulder, which isn't cheap (I think SS charges $75) but it's better than having a suit with sleeves too short. Hard to tell on the trousers but I think they're okay (maybe need to adjust length if you haven't already - I can't tell).

You didn't ask but I don't like the way that shirt looks at all. Looks like it's too big in the neck and the collar is much too tall in the back. I'd go with a spread collar where the points are covered by the jacket lapels. The tie is a little skinny for my taste - looks okay with the Lazio but I think it's too narrow for the Napoli.

The sizing guide is really messed up at the moment, you have to click 'Centimeters' to get the real measurements in inches, even then I'm not sure they're accurate.

First of all, you cannot return anything that has been altered, and if they were purchased over 30 days ago.

Both jackets are way too short for an office environment (They do not cover your arse), and the sleeve lengths are way too short (It should range from around 0.5 inch to 0.25 inch based on preference).

You should definitely be looking at a 38L, as far as I know, you cannot lengthen a jacket unless it has some extra fabric underneath the hem, and it probably won't be enough even if there is some.

The trousers also look too long as they are bunching at the bottom, but that's not a big deal as they can easily be altered.

I don't think it's possible to lengthen sleeves from the shoulder, only shorten.

I agree on the shirt, doesn't look very streamlined for the suit you're wearing it with (Button downs are too casual for the office), tie seems fine though.

Your camera is slightly angled down so I think makes your leg appear slightly shorter. But not outrageously short jacket wise, I think. Others might be fine with that length.

The back waist is bunching and I am guessing you want to let out waist in back not front a bit. This might clean up the back drape.

The back shoulder doesn't look as clean. The shoulder from front looks clean though it wouldn't hurt if it was slightly less wide.

I'd lengthen the sleeves a little. A little wrinkling at elbow but now nitpicking. For more details you can ask in tailors thread

For OTR that's not a bad fit! Definitely something a tailor can clean up if it is comfy and you don't mind the shorter length and button stance.

Would it be worthwhile trying a 38L or a different cut with a lower button stance (i.e. London or Lazio)? You mentioned the shoulder seem a touch big which I agree with. I have not altered it and was in a bit of a rush at the store so thinking about revisiting next week rather than putting the pin in this sucker and thinking about this everytime i take it out of the closet. Thanks; this forum has certainly made me more nitpicky.

Agreed. Next time buy a 38L. Jacket looks way to short for you.

@dkidsun

Definitely try on different cuts. I prefer the lower stance and longer length. It's hard to assess length from a pic that isn't straight on but I'm pretty sure it's on the short side. Some people like that more "modern" look and in the end you have to decide if you like it.

On the shoulders it loos clean from the front just a touch wide in the sense that if it was 18inches as opposed to 18.5 I think you might be ok. Of course that all depends on how the shoulder is constructed and cut.

But try on lots. Figure out where you like the length to be. See the thread I started called the right rule, on length. Get a sense of
What you like, then buy.

The fit isn't bad.

@letsgonats

The shirt collar is too high for your neck and too big. I'd bet you could go down half inch on the size and certainly half inch on back height but at least 1/4. Who makes the shirt?

looks like the inches are automatically calculated from the centimeters dimensions and like mrtopcat said they input the inches into the centimeters so the dimensions for the inches are off by 2.54.

Any experiences or opinions on the SS bodywarmer, like this for example: http://us.suitsupply.com/en_US/coats/light-grey-bodywarmer/BW021.html

I'm torn on weather or not its a good look or not, and they seem disproportionately expensive for some reason (by SuitSupply standards, anyway).  I'm a guy who loves the idea of a vest, but feels like a bartender every time I put one on, so something like this seems like a good compromise since... well since it's not really a vest.

Thoughts?

I got the jacket shortened by about 1.2 inches. Personally I think it threw the balance off more than expected, but it's not too bad, I still feel like it's by far one of the best options for me. Will definitely try MTM next time to see if that works out better.

What do you guys think?

P.S. Ignore the creased pants, I just got through a long day of sitting down a lot (The fabric is quite thin because it's a summer suit).

P.P.S. Jodhpur boots ftw!

Put me in the camp saying you need a Long. Sorry to hear you are past 30 days, and altered it. Check those basics first. (hard to do all the time admittedly, as I have a few jackets on the shorter side, both intentionally and not)

When you say you think the balance is a little off, because the top button looks closer to the bottom of the jacket than to the top, instead of being 50/50? What you have created is kinda-sorta what everyone is looking for from Suit Supply...a lower button stance! I think it looks better.

Is it a little tight in the back waist, or do you just need to steam the jacket?

I think the jacket fits pretty well. It is exactly what Suit Supply is, close enough to classic, but a little more modern. Clean up the pant length and you are good to go.
